Cafe Diplomatico, an iconic establishment that has shaped Toronto's culinary landscape for over five decades, invites you to embark on a captivating journey. Founded in 1968 by Rocco Mastrangelo Sr. and joined by his brother Paul, this Italian bar revolutionized outdoor dining in the city. What began as an innovative concept quickly became a neighbourhood standard, captivating patrons with its sunny patio atmosphere.

 

Over the years, Bar Diplomatico expanded into a full restaurant, acquiring the adjacent store and transforming into the beloved Cafe Diplomatico, fondly referred to as 'The Dip' by locals. The secret to its enduring success lies in its versatile and reasonably priced menu, complemented by a warm and inviting ambiance. The bustling summer patio, renowned for outstanding pizza and coffee, has become an emblem of this cherished establishment. Even amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cafe Diplomatico's resilience prevailed, albeit with the passing of Rocco Sr. in 2021.
